Classified
as the premiere shopping mall of the Philippines, the Shangri-La
Plaza Mall recently underwent renovation. Under the architectural
guidance of leading design firm of Recio + Casas, EMERALD won
the highly competitive tender process to supply and install
over 7,000 architectural luminaires. Included in the interior
lighting package is a cold cathode color changing system for
the ceiling's special effects of the escalator atrium, complemented
by an array of intelligent moving lights, attached to a digital
dimming and control system. For the building exterior, golden
yellow cold cathode tubes were installed on the fins to highlight
the building corners. On the façade, waved striplights
of cold cathode were again used to trace and accent the architectural
shape of the curved roof. |
